Project Overview
This project involved 3D scanning a race car engine and gearbox assembly to capture accurate geometry for engineering and design reference. The digital data allowed the client to work with precise measurements of the components without relying on manual measurements.
Challenge
The engine and gearbox assembly contained many complex mechanical features and tight clearances, making accurate measurement difficult using traditional methods.
Solution
The engine and gearbox were captured using high-precision 3D scanning to record the geometry of the components. The scan data was processed to create a detailed digital model that could be used as a reference for CAD design and engineering work.
