Project Overview
This project involved producing high-precision 3D printed anchor and cylinder models for custom flag pod components. The parts needed to be manufactured at a final height of 60 mm and finished with a premium gold-plated surface to achieve a refined, high-end appearance.
Challenge
The original digital models were scaled ten times larger than the required size, which meant they could not be printed directly. The challenge was to resize the parts accurately, adjust fitment dimensions, and maintain the fine detail needed for a small finished component with a premium plated finish.
Solution
The anchor and cylinder models were accurately resized to the required scale and the fitment dimensions were adjusted to preserve structural integrity. Resin 3D printing was selected to capture the anchor’s fine detail, and reference samples of previous gold plating work were provided to the client for approval before finishing.

Result
The finished components achieved a high-quality gold-plated appearance with excellent detail and surface finish. The final anchor and cylinder delivered the premium colour, shine, and visual impact required for the project, and the client was highly satisfied with the result.
